WARAYNON INITIATIVE NETWORK (WIN), the same organization that brought you the poignantly entertaining masterpiece HA IMO LA ( For You Alone) in 2014 and the memorable musical showcase of love, pain, despair and hope in LAMRAG (Ray of Light) in 2015, PROUDLY PRESENTS an epic display of outstanding artistry – HALAD (Offering) – on July 23, 2016 at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
HALAD will feature WIN’s lovely singer with a heart, MARITES “TETET” UY. HALAD is Waraynon Initiative Network’s 3rd fundraising concert. DON’T MISS IT!
“Tetet” as she is fondly called by her family and close friends graduated with the Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Accounting

.
Although she has a full-time job in her field of study, Tetet seems to also devote a full-time apostolate serving the Lord as a cantor and a church choir member.

Currently, Tetet is a cantor at the Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana in Los Angeles and was a former cantor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, also in Los Angeles from 2006-2010. Her choir experience spans many years starting from being a member of her catholic college’s student chorale and chapel choir in Tacloban and the Salt and Light Community Choir of one of the Philippines’ lovely historic churches, Sanctuario de San Antonio, located in the exclusive posh community of Forbes Park.Tetet and Gines lived in Seoul, Korea for many years and while Gines was the Hyewhadong Cathedral’s musical director, Tetet sang in its Filipino Community Choir.
And to the present day, Tetet sings soprano for the Friends in Harmony and Capilla choirs, both resident choirs of the Cathedral Chapel of St. Vibiana under the musical direction of her husband, Gines.
Back in the Philippines, Tetet had her share of musical competitions. She sang for a musical group and won the top prize for the Tacloban Original Pop Music Group Contest. Likewise, she won the top prize of the Subiran Regatta Original Composition Contest.
Tetet is very grateful for her “God-given Gift” and pays it forward unconditionally.
Stateside, Tetet tirelessly performs pro bono in several fundraising concerts for the church and for WIN.
Please come and watch HALAD on July 23 and let your hearts be captivated by Tetet’s sweet, angelic voice!

Friends and Family,

As many of you know, I am an active member of the Waraynon Initiative Network (WIN). Our annual concert, Halad, will take place on July 23rd to help raise funds for a medical mission to Tacloban City in 2017. However, I know many of my friends and family are unable to attend, as they live on the east coast, so I setup up a YouCaring site to accept donations from those that would still like to contribute. Please take a few minutes to visit my page and learn about how I became involved with this amazing non-profit organization! Any amount, large or small, will get us one step close to helping those in need. For more information about WIN, please visit www.winarts.org or email me with any questions! Thank you in advance for considering to donate to our cause!

With love,
Rachel (an honorary Filipina)

True to its mission, vision and goals, Waraynon Initiative Network (WIN) has put on summer benefit concerts showcasing the Philippine heritage through song and dance. Each year, WIN comes together to form an original production led by an all-volunteer cast and crew. Our debut concert in 2014, entitled Ha Imo La (For You Alone), was for the benefit of the victims of super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda, which struck southern Philippines in November 2013. Our 2nd summer concert held in 2015, entitled Lamrag (Ray of Light), was to raise funds to sustain the operations of the organization in spreading the unique cultural identity of the islands of Leyte, Samar, and Biliran, distinct from the national heritage of the Philippines. This year, our concert entitled Halad (Offering), will kick off our fundraising efforts for our planned surgical-medical-dental mission on July, 2017 in Tacloban City, Philippines and our other projects. This year’s concert will have two shows, 3pm and 7pm and will be held at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre, 4800 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027 on July 23, 2016.

Halad will feature performances by the WIN Orchestra, WIN Performing Group, WIN Chorale and the WIN Dancers with the special participation of the US-based alumni of the world-renowned Leyte Kalipayan Dance Company (LKDC), designated as Official Cultural Ambassadors of the Philippines to the US in 1965 and most recently acclaimed as one of the best dance companies in the world; Sole Twisters, a contemporary, ballet and jazz dance group based in San Jose, CA; and the amazing Mark Kervin Singzon, a Taclobanon based in New Zealand.

The concert will center on the heartfelt dedication and commitment of WIN to reach out to the needy and inspire people. It will showcase inspirational, contemporary, pop, jazz and rock songs which will appeal to the broad spectrum of audiences that our concerts have been able to attract. And of course, a WIN production will not be complete without the beautiful WARAY songs and the classic Tagalog songs. This evening of contemporary-ethnic musical fusion will surely be unforgettable!
